An Open Letter To My Future Wife

The journey to find you has been long, hard, and tiring. I have spent hours of my life in prayer for you. Everyday I wonder who you will be and what you will be like. I always wonder if I have met you yet or if I am going to meet you later on in life. Let me be the first to say that I am in no rush to find you. I know God is preparing us for each other and He will bring our hearts together in His timing. Regardless, I am beyond excited to meet you. More exciting and more importantly I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you by my side.

I have been praying for you. I pray for the woman you are going to be. I pray first of all that you have a genuine walk with Christ and are living an all out devoted life for Him. I pray that you will be supportive of the ministry calling that God has put on my heart. I pray that you will be a light that guides people away from the darkness of this world.

Here’s what you need to know about me. I do not share my feelings with just anyone. I won’t lie, to know the real me you will have to pry, pry, and pry some more to get me to share my deepest pains and feelings. I don't even share that with my best friends. I am also very loving. You'll probably get tired of me wanting to kiss you every second of the day, always wanting a hug you, or always wanting to hold your hand. I also love investing in people. That is one of my favorite things to do. I cannot wait to give you everything I have as a boyfriend and a husband and totally invest in you.

I cannot wait to support you in all you do. Wether you are a teacher, a nurse, a stay at home mom, or whatever you strive to be I will be there to support you in all of it. Nothing is more attractive than a woman who has goals and ambitions and I want to be a part of helping you chase your dreams.

Speaking of dreams that is the final thing you need to know about me. I am very ambitious and I am chasing my dream at the moment. My goal in this life is to go to seminary and get my doctorate so that I can be equipped to the best of my ability to preach God’s word and pastor a church as knowledgeably as I know how. I understand God is leading me and He will place me where He needs me, but I want to be equipped with as much knowledge of His word as I can have so that I can be used to lead many people to Christ and have an impactful ministry

. One thing that I have always lacked in my ministry is someone who is all in with me and believes in me. I just want you to believe in me.

Now into the fun stuff, I absolutely cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with the most beautiful girl in the world. The moment I find you, the moment I have been praying for nearly all my life, I can almost assure you that I am going to cry. I don't know what I did to deserve you but I am so thankful that God has blessed me with you. I cant wait to watch TV with you, take you out and show you off. I cant wait for all the other guys to be jealous of me because I have the most beautiful woman in the world as my wife. I cant wait to go to the grocery store and make you laugh with all the puns I am going to throw your way. I can’t wait to cook for you, by the way I really suck at cleaning so I hope you're good at that.

I can’t wait to see your face light up when I get down on one knee and ask you to spend the rest of your life with me, after I ask your dad of course. I can’t wait to see you as you walk down the aisle to become my wife. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I can’t wait to curl up on the couch and watch movies (No scary movies though) and fall asleep next to you every single night.

I can’t wait to open God’s word and study how to improve our marriage and to become more deeply devoted followers of Christ. I can’t wait to do the ministry with you and touch lives with the Gospel, I pray God can use us to have an impact of so many people. I can’t wait to pray with you and for you. I already am praying for you but I cant wait to pray for you by name and for your specific needs. I just cant wait to meet you.

You are the reason I am up until 2 or 3 am in the morning.You are the reason I am writing this letter! I can’t stop thinking about who you are and what life will be like with you. There will be up and downs, highs and lows, good times and bad, but all I want is to go through those times with you. I promise to never give up on you. You are the only wife I will ever have, divorce is not an option, but i’m sure you already know that.

I can’t wait until we have little kiddos running around the house. I pray that they'll look like their momma because their momma is the prettiest woman in the world and their dad is just a lucky dude who found the woman he was praying for. I cant wait till they crawl up between us in our bed because they were scared or just wanted their momma. I cant wait to go to their ball games or dance recitals. I can’t wait to raise them to live a Godly life and I pray that they will look to us to see what a Godly couple, marriage, and love looks like. You're going to be a great mom.

So to my future wife, whoever you are, just know I have been praying for you. I cannot keep you off my mind. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you and spend so many special moments together. I just can’t wait to meet you so we can begin our journey together. I can’t wait to grow old with you. The road to you hasn't been easy, but it was all worth it. I’ll take 20 plus years of wondering who you are if that means I get to spend the rest of my life loving the woman I have always prayed for. So whoever you are, I pray that God will guide our hearts towards each other in His time and will.
